We have sweet memories of Cape Cod, and have explored from the tip of the peninsula at Provincetown to the end at Falmouth via car, bike and boat. It is a popular summertime destination, not just for Bostonians, but also for celebrities and past U.S. presidents. In fact, President John F. Kennedy's hometown is in Hyannis, and he created the Cape Cod National Seashore. Thanks to his foresight and enthusiasm, we have forty miles of pristine sandy beaches, salt marshes and ponds to explore, relax and enjoy.
We visited one summer day in June a few years ago. The Salt Pond Visitor Center at Eastham has an outstanding museum, and magnificent views of Salt Pond, Nauset Marsh and the Atlantic Ocean. We enjoyed a short hike on Nauset Marsh Trail.

Have visited the area and agree with all comments. I especially enjoyed the Salt Pone area. Another very nice entry Eileen.
ReplyDeleteThanks Don! Have a great weekend!
DeleteIt's very beautiful on the East Coast but I'm afraid I cannot handle the humidity and heat. I often wonder how others do but I guess one gets used to it. The beaches though are stunning and the seafood looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteYou asked on my blog if I use cotton yarn for dishcloths and the answer is yes. I've never tried with any other kind of yarn. Happy weekend to you.
I experience one of those heatwaves in Boston! We were sightseeing so it was torture to be in the streets at the hottest times of day but we didn't have time to waste so we had to put up with it.
ReplyDeleteCape Cod looks beautiful, idyllic indeed!
